The end of the year pizza party and election time are upon us!
On May 5th (Tuesday - Reading day) we will
be having a End of the Year pizza party in ENR-223 @ 1pm. It is here that
we will hold the elections for the 2009-2010 E-board.
Click here to view the descriptions of all of the available positions.
- You may nominate yourself for multiple positions, but you may only hold
ONE executive position during an academic term (i.e. you cannot be
treasurer and Vice president).
- 2 positions no longer exist. They are conference chair and special
events coordinator. A new committee system is in place to allow for more
interaction between the e-board and students, so these positions were
removed. Also, the position for SEBS Council Chairs has already been
filled. Therefore only six positions are available.
Any questions should be passed on to myself or Allie. Please send me the
position(s) you would like to run for by May 1st, 2009. This will give me
time over the weekend to organize everything. Best of luck to everyone
who plans on running for a position.

Some general announcements and events:
Advanced SKYWARN training is taking place Tuesday April 21 at 8:00pm in ENR. Bring your spotter ID if you can, it makes things easier.
Meeting: Thursday, April 23: 8:00PM ENR 223. AMS presentations and more!
Applebees half price appetizers side trip after the meeting: Note: TBD.
As always, check the calendar on the home page and the bottom of this page for upcoming events and stay tuned for this year's elections and picnic.
Hey everyone!
Hope your semester is going well! I just wanted to send out an email update about a few events that are coming up in April.
This Friday (April 3) we will be going down to the National Weather Service in Mt Holly for a tour. We plan on leaving around 2:45 or 3:00 (depending on what route people want to take) because our actual tour starts at 4:00. I need to know who plans on going and who would be available to drive. As of right now I have 2-3 people willing to drive.
Next up in the list of events is possible bowling on Tuesday April 7th sometime after 9pm since that is when quarter bowling begins. Again I will be needing a list of people coming so I can make sure I have enough drivers.
Since there was interest in an Advanced SKYWARN training session I have finally established a time with the Mt. Holly office. We will be holding training on April 21st at 8pm in ENR. For those of you who have taken the basic training, this one will be shorter. Make sure to bring you spotter ID number because it helps them when figuring out mailing for cards.
Another social event we are looking to do is a trip to Applebee's on Thursday April 23 for half price appetizers.
On a bit of a different topic... As all of you know I am currently the Meteorology Representative for the SEBS- Cook Council. Since our last meeting the information that I brought up was essentially eliminated, hence me not sending out the revisions to the RUSA Constitution. Next years council will be dealing with such changes. This brings me to the next thing... Council Elections. In recent years we have had an active presence on the Council I wanted to try and make sure this continues especially since the structure of Student Government may be revised a bit again over the next year. If anyone is interested in running for this position please let me know! There will be an information session coming up within the next week or so for this campus( when it is announced I will send an email out.) If you have any questions about what my role on the council is, what opportunities council provides or anything about how council works I'll be more than willing to talk about it .
Sorry that was a bit long winded. I hope that you have a great week!

Hello Everyone,
Our next club meeting is going to be March 10th at around 8 or 8:30 pm in ENR-223. I will have a definite time for you in a few days.
I encourage you to come out to this meeting for two important reasons:
1) A handful of the upperclassmen will be doing their AMS presentations, so you can learn more about the presentations they were able to see while at the annual AMS conference in Phoenix.
2) We will be discussing Executive Board elections at this meeting. (Elections will be held shortly after spring break).
If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me.

Hello Everyone!
The Northeastern Storm Conference hosted by Lyndon State College is right around the corner! This means it is time to start preparing for this conference now! EVERYONE is invited to come to this conference. The conference will be held from March 6-8. This is a good conference for freshmen and sophomores to attend, to get a taste of what the AMS Annual meeting is like.

The conference web page can be found at http://apollo.lsc.vsc.edu/ams/index.php?page=nesc
