| The Joint Doctoral Degree Program in Exposure Assessment is a collaborative effort between the Rutgers Graduate Program in Environmental Sciences and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. It provides a unique opportunity for students to obtain training in human exposure assessment. The degree is jointly conferred by Rutgers University and UMDNJ-RWJMS. |

The Exposure Assessment Program educates students in the multifaceted science of exposure assessment that includes:
|
Students in the Program have access to state-of-the-art laboratory equipment for biological analysis, chemical analysis and mathematical modeling, which is an integral part of the program. These facilities permit measurement and prediction of how, when, where, and why exposures from the environment occurs, enter an individual, and are dispersed throughout the body. Computer models are also used to predict how contaminants are distributed throughout large populations. These capabilities lead to studies that provide a scientific basis for making public health decisions.
