ENVIRONMENT AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Dr. Gould is an international development professional who resided for 27 years in Senegal, Niger, Egypt, Oman, Sri Lanka and the Philippines managing international development projects for the United States Agency for International Development as a Foreign Service Officer and as a consultant employed by major engineering firms. His range of project experience includes transnational river basin planning, natural resources management, disaster reconstruction and infrastructure development, in particular water, sewerage and electric power systems. In the context of the developing world he will discuss his experience with environmental issues including environmental assessment, water resources management, climate change, green design of facilities, organizational development and the role of communities.
