  REGIONAL WATER QUALITY COORDINATION AMONG THE LAND GRANT UNIVERSITIES AND US ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY REGION 2

Mr. Potent will provide an overview of the US Department of Agriculture, National Integrated Water Quality Program, its regional component, and his work as liaison to USEPA Region 2. The regional USDA program is administered through the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service and is a partnership between Rutgers University, Cornell University and the Universities of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The region served, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, constitutes US EPA Region 2, was established to facilitate collaboration between the land grant institutions, EPA and other federal, state and local agencies and other academic institutions. The program promotes integration of research, education and extension to address key regional water quality issues and to provide linkage in this area with the entire national land grant university network.
