BIOFORSK — THE NORWEGIAN INSTITUTE FOR AGRICULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH, NORWAY

BIOFORSK'S DIVISION OF SOIL AND ENVIRONMENT AND ITS INTERNATIONAL PORTFOLIO

The Division of Soil and Environment is one of the research divisions of BIOFORSK, the Norwegian Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Research. The Division has several research groups that focus on Soil and Water Quality, Land-Use and Management, Bio-Resources and Environmental Technology in broader terms. In the last 5-6 years, concerted effort has followed a management initiative to strengthen Bioforsk’s international profile and involvement. The Division of Soil and Environment is currently the most successful Division of Bioforsk in this respect, being successful in securing projects and relevant funding from multiple funding agencies, and being involved in collaborative research in a wide range of research subjects on five continents. This presentation intends to give a quick introduction to BIOFORSK, summarize the Soil and Environment Division's international portfolio, and provide brief highlights of some of the completed or ongoing projects.
