The 2050 Tower

This is a study of a mixed-use, 150 story building that produces all its own energy, and treats and reuses its water and waste, based on the presumed state of technology in the year 2050. This is a sequel to a previous study "2020 Tower" which had the same goals with technology available to us today. This study takes into account further improvements in technology that are sure to come over the following years, and new insights into the importance of specific issues and forthcoming policy that will make a more comprehensively sustainable building required. It projects that in tomorrow's ultra-city the face of energy use can be reduced instead of adding further energy burden to meet the projected booming population by the year 2050.
